Thrive Cover

Thought I'd share the cover with you :)

Thrive - my summer sketchbook

Over summer I promised myself that I'd keep a sketchbook, just for my own pleasure. A Levels gave me a reason to draw and summer has given me a reason, and (as usual) I wanted to create.

Some of my drawings are from my bedroom, some from my London trip, and some rom the sculpture park - but all very sketchy and quick.

Sculpture in the Sanctuary

Yesterday I went with my Mum to the Sculpture in the Sanctuary Exhibtion at Reg Taylor's Garden Centre where there was over 600 sculptures, 300 inside and 300 outside. I was so impressed - I enjoyed the ones inside but the ones outside were something else. They seemed to interact effortlessly with the environment around them - the giraffe was placed as if he was  grabbing a piece of the tree with his mouth, all the water animals on ledges in the lake. Lovely scenery and a lovely leisurely walk around some clear talent.

Couldn't resist a bit of time for some sketching - so want this apple for my garden.

Made out of a tyre, can you believe it!

Want to take a little piglet home!

So much character in a piece of wood

I love this, the movement is great.

Identity Drawings

These two are a couple of observations from my A-Level art project "Identity", exploring how objects make us us. I think the influence of art, music and literature on me is pretty evident - I enjoyed doing both of these, but I'm such an impatient person by the end of my work I wanted them to be finished! And I'm such a tweeker! I was adding on pencil strokes for weeks after... All that's left now is to wait for results!

New Teacup Necklace

Dead excited to have just listed a gorgeous cup necklace which I think is lovely!

Hiya,

I've recently set up an Etsy, where I am making lots of lovely things in the hope that I can kill two birds with one stone - quench my creative thirst to create things and also earn a bit of money for uni. This blog is going to follow my creative efforts, downfalls and escapades - I hope you enjoy.
